It feels like it has been awhile since Julian has made an appearance on our blog. I'm going to take this opportunity to share a little bit about my handsome boy.
After a rough start, Julian has really taken to his pre-k class. Now more than ever, I am confident that we chose the right program for him. After much worrying, indecision, and at times regret, I now see that Kindergarten would not have suited his needs this year. He is thriving in this environment; making good friends, learning the basics, learning to behave(!), and having fun.
Julian's favorite past-time is still anything that involves Lego. He can build the most amazing structures, with no instruction at all. While he also loves a good game of Mario Brothers, when push comes to shove, he would actually rather sit at his desk and cut, color, and paint more than play just about any video game. He calls it, "doing an acti-ity." I hope he never loses this desire because he is very talented with his art projects. While most kids in his class struggle with holding scissors correctly, Julian is whipping out snowflakes, animals, and more perfect hearts than I could ever cut.
His class 'celebrates' a letter every week. We have had a lot of fun trying to come up with treats that begin with the letter of the week to bring in during the Friday party's. I'm sure some of the parents are irritated by now, but I really enjoy the time I get to spend with Julian in the kitchen. He helps with every step of the process, even decoration. I have my own little pastry chef in-training. Here are a couple of our most recent creations for his class:
Julian has been the big brother every parent hopes for. He loves his sisters to a fault.
He worries about them, he takes care of them, shares with them, plays with them, and
they are constantly on his mind. On a daily basis, he'll call to me from another room to
"come look at us."
It's always him cozying up with one or both of his sisters. The other day, Sophia took a
late nap on the couch and was absent at the dinner table. Julian couldn't stand it!
He kept going over to her, rubbing her back, trying to wake her up. When she finally
woke up, he put her head on his lap and kept repeating, "You little sleepy head! You
missed dinner, Soph!" It was very sweet that he was so concerned about her missing out.
Julian, you make every part of our lives better. You make us laugh, smile, and cry happy
tears. You are the best boy your dad and I could ever ask for.

That last story is so sweet! Julian does love those sissys! I'm glad he's having fun at school. I'm trying to figure out a way to get into his class so I can celebrate a letter or two with Julian's cupcakes.

How sweet! Man you two are over achievers in the kitchen & certainly put his classmates to shame! I want in on that class of his too!
HA!! Wow... and I was giving myself props for Rice Krispy treats with "festive" sprinkles!!!
Julian sounds absolutely perfect. I've always known he is handsome, but it is so sweet to read about more of his daily interactions. Sounds like Soph and Chloe hit the jackpot with him :)
Awe, it was nice to learn a little more about Julian! He sounds so creative....between all that baking & art ("doing an acti-ity"...I thought that was so cute. Ty tells me he wants to "do craftys"...I love it).
What a sweetheart...there are some lucky ladies in that house of yours!
