Gone Fishing

Mikey was nice enough to invite Julian and Ped fishing over Spring Break. They had so much fun, it was all they talked about for days. Also, Julian caught his first fish, which was both exciting and disgusting to him at the same time. He's lucky to have a nice uncle, willing to hold his 'catch' up for the camera.

This boy

Julian just completed 2nd trimester testing at school and did amazingly well. I mean, 100% correct answers to all questions. I try not to be a braggart on this blog, but sometimes you just have to toot your kids horn.
Not only is he the brightest little boy in his class (it's true-he's at the 'smart' table and he's the only boy!), he also makes an effort to stick up for the kids being picked on in class. He comes home with stories about certain incidents, and how he tried to make it better.
Also, he is always kind and loving to his sisters. He will call my attention to one of them 'being cute' on a daily, if not hourly basis.
When he got in the car and I began to read his progress report aloud to Ped, I started to cry because I was so proud of all that he's become in 6 years. We decided right then and there that a trip to Leatherby's was in order!

I am amazed and so thankful for the children in my life. To call them blessings doesn't feel like enough. The fact that they are all wrapped up in pretty packages is just a bonus.

Happy Birthday Sophia & Chloe!

What they don't teach you in twin school is that it gets better with each passing day.
It also gets pinker, and girlier.
These two have been the greatest challenge and greatest blessing of my life. Headlocks and hair pulling one minute, hugging and kissing the next. They certainly keep us on our toes, but we wouldn't have it any other way.
We love you two and the excitement you bring us each day.

Down came the rain

And they loved every minute of it. Julian was compelled to cover his sister's ear during the thunder.

Easy rider

Towards the end of summer, Julian learned to ride his bike.

There was a lot of this going on behind the scenes:

Learning to ride a bike in the 'big' city can be a challenge.
You need to find empty parking lots:

A cheerleader or two never hurts:

You need to wait for the occasional garbage truck:

And the occasional slowpokes:

But with a little guidance, and some determination
it can be done!
