Oh Christmas Tree...

Things are looking up...

The month of November gave us a string of bad luck that was tough to come out of. One totaled car, another car broken into, a rough month in pre-k...should I even go on?

I'll spare the gory details and get on to my first bit of good news from December.

We went thrifting 2 weekends ago as an attempt to pull ourselves out of the funk and I came across this little gem for $3.99:

A women's vintage Burberry trench coat in pristine condition! It took me a week, but I finally put it up on Etsy and today it sold for...wait for it....

Julian had many questions about this 'Bobbing for Apples' business, until he gave it a try:

His friends from school decided this was more than a 1-player game.

In the end, he "caught" 4 apples. He felt like the luckiest boy in the world.

Last day of summer

We wanted to make Julian's last day before school a special one.

First order of business: a crown.

Second: his favorite foods.

Third: a special gift.

"Oh, the places you'll go!"

Fourth: a real present to make up for the last one being a book.

Fifth: dessert at Rick's!

It was a perfect day of 5 things to make our 5 year old feel special!

State Fair '10

It took some convincing, but Ped persuaded me to pack the kids up an hour before bedtime to catch the last night of the fair. I'm glad I did!
